A Farmhouse Reinterpreted - Published 2006
Taftsville, Vermont

Status: Completed Fall '03.

This house's contemporary kitchen is featured in "Bon Appetit" Magazine's April '06 issue (pp 142-145)

Lured by the charm of an old Vermont farmhouse, a couple from Chicago decided to make the move to the country, to land deeded by the Rockefeller family.

The house that drew them East had suffered from years of water damage and after much discussion and a few shed tears the owners made the difficult decision that the house would need to be entirely replaced.

The "new" house made a conscious effort to stay true to its predessesor, keeping its public face much the way that it always had been. The builder saved what he could when the first house was dismantled to be integrated into the design where they could. Traditional materials and careful attention to detail by the building crew create the feel that this new home has always been there.
