Status: Completed Spring 2007

This project was originally designed as a spec. home by the builder. The owners wanted to renovate to more closely meet their programmatic requirements. This included a connector which allowed the garage program to be more fully integrated and connected to the house.

The upper floor of the garage was converted from an empty storage space to a fully functional guest room, home office, theater, and sewing room. The lower floor of the garage/connector provided space for an exercise room, mechanical room, wine storage and circulation between the house and garage.

Smith & Vansant worked closely with the landscape architect to create comfortable exterior spaces from the connecting forms.
